Blogging Insights for Building Community
Todd of Wediabuzz really liked this slideshow from Trisha Okubo. There are many slides but it moves quickly and is very interesting, and most appropriate for those of us thinking about how to engage and inform our communities. She makes the point, near the end, that communities cannot be built, like products, but need to develop from shared passion.

So Chuck – is this saying we need to hire “people” and not fill positions?
It sounds pretty cool – because it seems like it is easier for a person to engage a community instead of a entire business…but maybe it works with the same principal?

Tom – I agree, so have modified my blog on Context to note that the most important ingredient is intelligent people who care deeply about their particular community, not technical skills, work processes or job descriptions. Take a look at the “Context requires fundamental change below” and see what you think.
Thanks for the comment!
